Crete has many natural "medicines"

One of the oldest is Crete Salve or Cretan ointment, which has been known for millennia. Every family in Crete and elsewhere in Greece has always had their own ointment to protect themselves from the sun's rays, from the cold in winter, from insect bites, sunburn, eczema and all other skin ailments. We have had a Cretan ointment made according to one of the original old recipes which has been tried and tested and is still used today by several prominent Greek doctors, but at the same time we have adapted it to today's needs.
