Metaxa is the brand that, without equal, is the epitome of Greek quality spirits. It is neither a cognac nor a liqueur, but a Metaxa, although many Greeks consider it the Greek cognac.
Metaxa, which was originally produced in Russia by a distillery that was a court supplier to Alexander III, has been produced in Constantinople since the end of the 1890s and is today exported to more than 50 countries worldwide.
The taste is characteristic with fine notes of muscat and a wonderful aftertaste. The aging in French oak casks for 5 years is also clearly felt and Metaxa can be drunk alone, with coffee, dessert, cold or at room temperature or in drinks. And although it is not an actual cognac, it wins by being served in a cognac glass, so that the bouquet is kept in the glass and enhances the taste experience.
The Metaxa 5* bottle is inspired by classical Greek architecture.
